Senior Data Scientist, Cost Prediction
Xometry is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our cost prediction team. This role focuses on developing and optimizing machine learning models to predict various business outcomes, leveraging 3D data to enhance our digital marketplace. The successful candidate will contribute to Xometry's mission of connecting innovators with manufacturers through advanced data-driven solutions.
Key responsibilities include developing predictive models using machine learning principles applied to 3D data, preparing and cleaning data for model development, and utilizing cloud resources such as Amazon Web Services for data processing. The role also involves querying and extracting data from databases like Snowflake and MongoDB, and employing data analysis and visualization tools such as SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, and Looker to inform business strategies. The candidate will be expected to iterate solutions in a fast-paced environment, solve complex problems, and collaborate within a team-oriented setting that emphasizes continuous learning.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, or engineering, with a preference for those holding an M.S. or Ph.D. in a related field. A minimum of five years of experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, and optimization techniques is required, along with at least two years of experience in 3D deep learning, including working with Mesh, Volumetric, and/or Point Clouds. Proficiency in Python (including libraries such as pandas, numpy, SciPy, and scikit-learn), linear algebra, and statistics is essential. Familiarity with scientific software principles, including version control, reproducibility, and code deployment, is also desired. Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or Green Card holders due to ITAR regulations.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $182,000 annually, depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.
