Clearway Energy Group is seeking a Senior Counsel to provide legal guidance on procurement, engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), and operations and maintenance (O&M) matters within the utility-scale wind, solar, and battery energy storage sectors. This hybrid role reports to the Assistant General Counsel and is based in one of the following office locations: San Diego, CA; Scottsdale, AZ; Houston, TX; Denver, CO; or San Francisco, CA.

In this position, the Senior Counsel will offer legal counsel on engineering, procurement, construction, operations, and maintenance issues, including those related to financed projects. Responsibilities include representing the company in major transactions and negotiations, drafting and negotiating EPC Agreements, O&M Agreements, Turbine Supply Agreements, and Module Supply Agreements. The role also involves supervising outside counsel as necessary and collaborating with internal stakeholders to enhance contracting processes and tools.

Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor (JD) from a reputable law school and be licensed to practice law. A minimum of seven years of relevant experience at a major law firm or a sophisticated in-house legal department is required, with a preference for candidates with experience in utility-scale wind, solar, and/or battery projects. Strong business acumen, excellent commercial judgment, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential. Effective communication skills, project management abilities, and a solution-oriented approach to risk management are also important.

The compensation for this role varies based on geographic location, skills, experience, education, and other factors. The position is eligible for an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.
