Senior Commercial Counsel
Canva is seeking a Senior Commercial Counsel to join its dynamic legal team, focusing on supporting the company's rapidly expanding Enterprise business. This role involves close collaboration with Go-to-Market (GTM) teams to facilitate and streamline commercial agreements across various sectors, including enterprise, higher education, government, and strategic partnerships. The position is based in London, offering a hybrid work environment that combines in-office and remote work options.
The Senior Commercial Counsel will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a high volume of commercial agreements with customers and channel partners. This includes developing and evolving contracting approaches for diverse customer segments, such as government entities and higher education institutions, as well as managing partner-led and channel transactions. The role also entails supporting international and cross-border transactions, ensuring compliance with local legal and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
Candidates should possess hands-on experience in reviewing and negotiating a variety of contracts within a fast-paced technology company, particularly in enterprise SaaS transactions, AI terms, and Data Processing Agreements (DPAs). A proactive approach to identifying and analyzing opportunities and risks is essential, along with excellent communication skills to convey complex legal concepts in a clear and actionable manner. Experience in supporting international or cross-border transactions within EMEA or other multi-jurisdictional environments is highly desirable.
