Senior Business Development Manager (Satellite Constellations)
Muon Space is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive growth within the Department of Defense (DoD) sector. This role reports to the Vice President of Growth and collaborates closely with Engineering, Technology, Legal, and Finance teams. The position is based in the Washington D.C. Metro Area.
The Senior Business Development Manager will lead customer engagement, pipeline development, and capture efforts. Responsibilities include identifying new opportunities, developing and implementing customer engagement plans, and leading proposals and RFI responses. The role also involves collaborating with other business development personnel and engineering teams, providing customer input into the product technology roadmap, and working with Legal and Finance on opportunities.
Candidates should have over 10 years of professional experience in aerospace or defense, with at least 5 years in business development. The ability to build and execute plans with minimal oversight is essential. Experience with U.S. Government captures and leading proposals is required, along with a demonstrated success in capturing space business within the DoD or Intelligence Community. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary, and the candidate must be comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role requires up to 35% travel and an active DoD Top Secret clearance.
The compensation range for this role is $147,000 to $164,000, with on-target earnings between $294,000 and $328,000, including an uncapped performance-based commission structure and a competitive equity package. Final compensation will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location as assessed during the interview process.
