Senior Backend Software Engineer | CARE - Engagement & Platform

Wellhub is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our CARE - Engagement & Platform team in Brazil. This remote position focuses on developing AI-powered backend services that integrate large language models (LLMs) into user-facing applications. In this role, you'll design and implement AI-driven features end-to-end, ensuring they are reliable, efficient, and scalable. Your responsibilities include building robust backend services and APIs, monitoring system performance, and proactively addressing issues to maintain high-quality standards. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and data scientists, is essential to deliver seamless user experiences.

Ideal candidates should have strong proficiency in Python and experience deploying and managing production backends. A solid understanding of AWS services, particularly serverless architectures like AWS Lambda, is required. Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, such as DynamoDB, OpenSearch, and PostgreSQL, is essential. Familiarity with event-driven systems like Kafka and SQS, as well as tools for production observability such as Grafana and Prometheus, is advantageous.
