The Senior Associate Corporate Transactions & Advisory role at Clifford Chance involves advising leading global companies on a wide range of public and private mergers and acquisitions, disposals, demergers, joint ventures, restructurings, and high-value commercial contracts. The position focuses on complex, cross-border transactions and requires collaboration with specialists in antitrust, finance, capital markets, litigation, tax, pensions, employment, and real estate to deliver integrated legal advice. The role also encompasses corporate governance, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and technology advisory services.
Key responsibilities include providing legal and commercial expertise on complex M&A transactions, large-scale reorganizations, and joint venture arrangements across various sectors such as financial services, energy, consumer goods, healthcare, industrials, real estate, aviation, and technology. The Senior Associate will work as part of cross-border and interdisciplinary teams to advise on corporate finance activities, ensuring compliance with local laws and business requirements. Additionally, the role involves developing client relationships, engaging in business development and thought leadership initiatives, and drafting clear and concise legal documents to support multinational corporations.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in corporate law, gained at a reputable City firm or an overseas common law practice with a strong profile. Proven experience in advising on complex, multi-jurisdictional transactions is essential. Candidates should possess outstanding academic credentials and first-rate legal skills, combined with a strong reputation among clients for providing commercial solutions and excellent transactional and management skills. Excellent document drafting abilities, strong communication and analytical skills, and a high level of commercial awareness are also required. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to thrive in a team with high professional standards and a client-focused commercial approach, as well as an appetite for business development, client relationship management, and thought leadership.
