Xometry is seeking a Senior Application Engineer specializing in CNC Machining to join our team in Waltham, MA. In this role, you will be responsible for client quoting, supplier sourcing, production planning, and supporting on-time order fulfillment. This position requires a deep understanding of CNC machining processes and the ability to communicate technical information effectively.

Key responsibilities include analyzing engineering models and drawings to define manufacturing operations, estimating costs by considering materials, tooling, and equipment requirements, and collaborating with machinists, quality assurance, engineering, and management teams to meet customer expectations. Additionally, you will be involved in sourcing materials and finishes and providing cost estimates for various production volumes.

The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in a CNC machining quoting environment, proficiency in CAD software, and extensive knowledge of CNC programming and machine setup, including 3/4/5 axis milling, CNC lathes, live tooling lathes, and Swiss machines. Familiarity with welding, grinding, wire EDM, assemblies, and finishing processes is preferred. A strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications are essential.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $86,000 to $111,000 annually, plus commission, depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.
