Senior Application Engineer, CNC Machining

Xometry is seeking a Senior Application Engineer specializing in CNC Machining to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in managing client quoting, supplier sourcing, and production planning to ensure timely order fulfillment. The Senior Application Engineer will analyze engineering models and drawings to define manufacturing operations that align with design intent and quality standards. Responsibilities include estimating costs by considering materials, tooling, and production times, as well as collaborating closely with machinists, quality assurance, engineering, and management teams to meet customer expectations. Experience in sourcing materials and finishes, along with cost estimation for various production volumes, is essential.

Candidates must possess at least 7 years of experience in CNC machining quoting environments. Proficiency in CAD and extensive knowledge of CNC machining technologies, including multi-axis milling, turning, welding, grinding, and EDM, are required. Familiarity with programming and setting up CNC machines, understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and strong technical communication skills are also necessary.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $86,000 to $111,000 annually, plus commission, depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.
