Security Engineer, Device/Hardware

The Security Engineer, Device/Hardware role is a strategic position within Motive's Product Security Team. This role focuses on collaborating with engineering and hardware teams to ensure the secure design, development, and deployment of hardware components. Key responsibilities include conducting design reviews, performing threat modeling, and developing secure-by-default components such as libraries, services, and frameworks. The engineer will also lead hardware security architecture reviews, define security requirements for hardware platforms, and drive end-to-end security for device hardware across IoT and cloud security infrastructure.
Candidates should have over five years of experience in hardware security, with a strong background in integrating security by design patterns into new devices and platforms. Proficiency in programming languages like Python and C/C++ is essential. A deep understanding of hardware root of trust, secure boot, attestation, key protection, device identity, and secure provisioning concepts is required. Experience in cloud security, runtime security, supply chain security, and application security best practices is also necessary.
The base compensation for this role ranges from $160,000 to $205,000 USD annually.
