Scientist to Senior Scientist, in vitro Biology
Structure Therapeutics is seeking a Scientist or Senior Scientist to join our in vitro Biology team in Shanghai, China. This role is integral to our mission of developing life-changing medicines using advanced structure-based and computational drug discovery technologies. The successful candidate will contribute to our clinical-stage pipeline focused on chronic diseases with high unmet needs, including cardiovascular, metabolic, and pulmonary conditions.
The primary responsibilities include developing, optimizing, and validating novel cell-based and ex vivo assays aligned with project needs. The role involves collaborating with Contract Research Organizations (CROs) to design experiments, optimize assays, maintain routine screens, and ensure data quality control. Additionally, the candidate will troubleshoot technical issues, apply scientific insights to improve assay design, and evaluate new technologies relevant to GPCRs and metabolic diseases.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, or a related field, with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in in vitro assay development and execution. Proven expertise in GPCR-related assays and/or assays relevant to metabolic disease biology is essential. Technical skills required include extensive experience with cell culture (including primary cells), HTRF, luciferase-based assays, qPCR, Western blotting, FACS, imaging-based assays, and other standard molecular biology/biochemical techniques. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with scientific software are also necessary.
