Remote Immigration Attorney (PR)

The United Firm | La Liga Defensora, APC is seeking a dedicated Remote Immigration Attorney to join our dynamic team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an admitted attorney in Puerto Rico to manage a diverse caseload, collaborate with experienced legal professionals, and contribute to our mission of protecting clients' rights. Reporting to the Managing Immigration Attorney, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering strategic legal solutions and exceptional client service.

Key responsibilities include representing both non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals. The attorney will manage their caseload effectively, conduct client intakes, prepare and review various immigration applications—including removal defense and family-based petitions—and develop strategies for court and USCIS testimonies. Additionally, the role involves engaging with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations to stay abreast of changes in immigration law.

The ideal candidate will possess 3-5 years of experience in immigration law, demonstrating a proven ability to advance legal cases and manage a caseload efficiently. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, with a preference for bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish. Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR, detained matters, citizenship, and other USCIS applications is highly desirable. Familiarity with case management software is also preferred.
