Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney
The United Firm | La Liga Defensora, APC is seeking an Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney to join our dynamic team in Los Angeles, California. This role offers a unique opportunity for a dedicated attorney to gain valuable experience and advance their career within a premier law firm known for its commitment to justice and client advocacy. The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney and collaborate closely with a team of experienced attorneys and legal assistants.
In this position, the attorney will manage a diverse caseload, providing legal counsel to clients on their rights and drafting pertinent legal documents. Responsibilities include attending pretrial hearings, advising clients on strategic approaches post-hearing, representing clients in court appearances and trials, drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and conducting comprehensive legal research. The role also involves analyzing case outcomes based on legal precedents, gathering additional evidence to support client cases, and preparing clients for depositions by determining essential case strategies and collecting information from witnesses and experts.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctorate degree and demonstrate a strong interest in criminal defense law, evidenced by participation in law school clinics, volunteer work, or internships. Active bar admission is required, though law graduates awaiting admission will also be considered. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional interpersonal skills, a proven ability to manage a caseload effectively, and a collaborative team spirit. While not mandatory, bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred, and experience with case management software is advantageous.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 annually, with potential adjustments based on experience.
