IMC is a leading global trading firm that combines technology, advanced quantitative research, and cutting-edge machine learning techniques to make markets more efficient. With a strong focus on innovation, we leverage mathematical models and high-performance computing to drive our trading decisions. As a Quantitative Research Intern, you will work at the intersection of data science, financial markets, and algorithmic trading, solving real-world challenges that drive our trading strategies. This internship program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in quantitative research, supported by structured learning, real-world project work, and direct mentorship from senior IMC employees.

In this role, you will participate in an intensive training program covering trading concepts, options theory, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques. You will tackle meaningful research challenges, such as designing new predictive models, optimizing existing strategies, or leveraging alternative data to extract actionable insights. Your day-to-day work will involve exploring large financial and market datasets, identifying patterns, and developing quantitative models that contribute to our trading decisions. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with traders, researchers, and engineers in a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating environment. Additionally, you will present your findings through reports and presentations, gaining exposure to both technical and non-technical audiences.

We are seeking candidates who are currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in a highly quantitative field, such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, with a keen interest in applying mathematical and statistical techniques to real-world challenges. Proficiency in programming, preferably in Python, or other relevant languages like C++, Java, Matlab, or R, is required. The ideal candidate is curious and driven, with a passion for learning, adapting, and innovating in a fast-paced trading environment. Excellent communication skills are also important, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear, actionable insights.
