Quality Control Inspector
Xometry is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our team in San Jose, CA. In this role, you will work in a dynamic environment with a relentless focus on improving our quality metrics by leveraging your strong problem-solving and continuous improvement skills. You will lead Supplier Quality and support internal departments and our supplier network to achieve high-quality products.
As a Quality Control Inspector, your key responsibilities will include performing onsite physical and paperwork inspections at partner facilities, conducting partner audits and onboarding activities, and initiating and managing partner product Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA). You will develop and take actions on partner systemic RMA trends leading to CAPAs, continuously monitor and address emerging issues, and facilitate cross-functional team optimization efforts geared towards NCR/RMA reductions with partners. Additionally, you will participate in real-time partner RMA reviews, facilitate Partner Quality Support Hour, provide technical support to partners regarding quality, and work with Partner Management on Partner Onboarding escalations.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 7 years in an engineering or quality role, and at least 5 years in a supplier-facing role. Strong Quality Assurance and Partner Development experience are essential, along with proficiency in APQP and DFM/DFQ. You should be adept at using various lab equipment and GD&T tools, have experience as a customer quality liaison, possess mechanical and manufacturing processing knowledge, and be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications. Good time and project management capabilities, understanding of Six Sigma methodologies, knowledge of Process Certification/Process Robustness, and Certified Auditor status for ISO Standards are also required. The role requires the ability to travel up to 50% within California.
Preferred qualifications include Six Sigma Black Belt Certification, ASQ Certification, familiarity with Asana, Looker, Salesforce, and ERPs, and experience with ISO 13485, AS9100, or IATF 16949 standards.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $84,000 to $109,000 annually, depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.
