Python Software Engineer

IMC is seeking a Python Software Engineer to join our Amsterdam office. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for developing high-performance trading systems, analytical tools, signal generation frameworks, and regulatory surveillance applications. Our in-house technology drives millions of trading decisions daily, positioning us ahead of the competition through superior speed and accuracy.

As a Python Software Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include collaborating closely with traders, researchers, and other tech teams to gather requirements and implement solutions. You will engage in short iteration cycles to refine implementations, integrate user feedback, and contribute your own ideas to enhance our systems. The software you develop will be exclusively for internal use, allowing you to have full control over the development cycle and work directly with end-users.

The ideal candidate will have over four years of experience as a Software Engineer with deep technical knowledge of Python, including its internal workings, strengths, and limitations. Proficiency with Python libraries and frameworks such as FastAPI (AsyncIO), APScheduler, Pandas, Polars, RQ, Pytest, TensorFlow, SciPy, XGBoost, scikit-learn, NumPy, Numba, and Celery is essential. Experience with DevOps, databases, big data, or frontend frameworks is advantageous. A critical mindset, the ability to challenge ideas, and experience working with financial data are also required.
