Product Development Intern

Alo is seeking a dedicated and proactive Product Development Intern to join our team. This role involves supporting the Product Development Team from the inception to the completion of the product line, with a primary focus on managing and organizing samples throughout each season. The ideal candidate will possess an educational background in apparel, an understanding of textiles, and proficiency in Excel. This is a fast-paced environment that requires strong time management and organizational skills.

Key responsibilities include coordinating and organizing salesman samples, managing the receipt of prototype samples through the Sample Management System (SMS), and maintaining close working relationships with Merchandising, Creative, Public Relations, Technical Design, Production, and overseas vendors. The intern will also be responsible for tracking, storing, and hanging samples by season, communicating with the Product Development team regarding sample delays, preparing and handling sample packages via DHL, learning the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, and assisting with general style and color maintenance. Additional duties involve filing, packing, lifting boxes, and general office maintenance.

Applicants must be current students pursuing a degree in Textiles, Fashion, or a related field. The role requires an entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, a natural inclination as a self-starter and problem solver with a growth mindset, and excellent communication and organizational skills. A team-first mentality with a positive attitude is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and basic Excel proficiency are necessary. The ability to be flexible and adapt to a changing work environment is also important.

The compensation for this position is $25 per hour. The internship program runs from June 8th to July 31st, with interns working 40 hours a week at our Commerce office.
