Procurement Specialist
The Procurement Specialist at GenScript/ProBio is responsible for managing the end-to-end sourcing and procurement of direct materials and consumables essential for production. This role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure supply continuity, compliance with quality and regulatory standards, and readiness for audit requirements. The position is based in Rijswijk, Netherlands, with a hybrid work arrangement of three days onsite and two days working from home.
Key responsibilities include overseeing material planning to meet inventory key performance indicators (KPIs) while ensuring an uninterrupted supply chain. The specialist will lead strategic sourcing initiatives, manage procurement processes, and develop alternative vendors for critical materials to mitigate supply chain risks. Additionally, the role involves conducting category management to identify cost-saving opportunities through vendor consolidation and the use of alternative materials or components. The specialist will also be responsible for vendor management, including building supplier profiles, conducting regular business reviews, and securing pricing contracts and Master Supply Agreements (MSAs).
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, along with 2–3 years of procurement experience, preferably within the life sciences, biotech, pharmaceutical, or high-tech industries. Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills are essential. Familiarity with SAP procurement systems and knowledge of Dutch business practices and the local supplier landscape are advantageous. Proficiency in English and Dutch (B2+ level) is required; Chinese language skills are a plus but not mandatory.
The estimated salary range for this position is $55,000 to $70,000, based on experience.
