Biotechnologist (Gene)

The Biotechnologist (Gene) position at GenScript/ProBio in Singapore involves conducting gene synthesis experiments, including PCR, ligation, transformation, and plasmid construction, to deliver high-quality gene products to clients. The role requires meticulous data recording, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols within a collaborative laboratory environment.

Key responsibilities include operating experimental technologies such as PCR and gel recovery, linearizing vectors and fragments using specific enzymes, performing ligation and transformation procedures, and accurately recording all data and results. The biotechnologist will also be responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, assisting in ordering supplies, and ensuring compliance with safety guidelines.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant scientific discipline, such as life sciences or biological chemistry. Familiarity with various laboratory equipment and instrumentation, strong technical and problem-solving skills, and excellent attention to detail are essential. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required to work collaboratively within the team. The position involves working 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week, with 2 rest days that may not always fall on weekends.
