Principal Radar Systems Engineer
STR is seeking a Principal Radar Systems Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced radar systems. This role is situated within STR's Systems Development Division (SDD), which focuses on delivering technology advantages to users by developing and deploying advanced systems across various domains. The team emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to solving complex national security challenges.
In this position, the Principal Radar Systems Engineer will be responsible for researching and leading new RF sensing implementations for advanced radar solutions. This includes decomposing complex customer needs, developing system concepts, and designing cutting-edge technology in multi-function radar systems. The role also involves conducting performance analyses through simulations and real-world testing to validate and optimize radar performance, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and ensure seamless integration.
Candidates should possess an expert understanding of radar systems, including design, development, requirements verification, test planning, and operations support. Proficiency in radar simulation tools and MATLAB is essential. A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Radar Systems Engineer is required, with a background that includes a Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of applicable experience, a Master's degree and at least 8 years of applicable experience, or a PhD and at least 5 years of applicable experience. An active Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance, is also necessary.
