Principal Machine Learning Data Scientist, Gen AI
Xometry is seeking a Principal Data & Machine Learning Scientist to lead its Generative AI team. This role involves advancing machine learning and generative AI capabilities, focusing on fine-tuning language models, multimodal document understanding, and structured data extraction. The successful candidate will develop innovative AI-driven solutions to enhance Xometry's service offerings.
Key responsibilities include providing technical leadership, setting best practices, and ensuring adherence to industry standards in AI and ML development. The role involves strategic planning for generative AI initiatives, developing and deploying AI models for document processing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align solutions with business objectives. Mentoring team members and staying updated with the latest research in generative AI are also essential aspects of the position.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree, with a preference for an advanced degree in computer science, machine learning, AI, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of experience in data science and machine learning, focusing on generative models, large language models, or computer vision, is required. Proficiency in Python and familiarity with cloud computing resources, such as AWS SageMaker, are also necessary. Experience in the manufacturing or supply chain industries is considered a plus.
The estimated base salary range for this role is $164,000 to $213,000 annually, plus an annual bonus, depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.
