Principal Machine Learning Data Scientist, Gen AI
Xometry is seeking a Principal Data & ML Scientist to join our Generative AI team. This role involves leading the development and optimization of AI-driven solutions, focusing on fine-tuning generative and language models, multimodal document understanding, and structured data extraction. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise to enhance Xometry's service offerings in the on-demand manufacturing marketplace.
Key responsibilities include providing technical leadership to the Generative AI team, setting technical direction, defining best practices, and ensuring adherence to industry standards in AI and ML development. The role also involves leading strategic planning and roadmap development for generative AI initiatives, developing and deploying generative AI models and large language models for multimodal document processing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align AI solutions with business objectives.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree, with a preference for an advanced degree (M.S. or PhD) in computer science, machine learning, AI, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of experience in data science and machine learning, focusing on generative models, large language models, or computer vision, is required. Proficiency in Python and key libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, pandas, and numpy, along with a strong background in probability, statistics, and optimization techniques relevant to generative modeling, is essential.
The estimated base salary range for this role is $164,000 to $213,000 annually, plus an annual bonus, depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.
