Principal Architect (Engineer)

Engine is seeking a Principal Architect (Engineer) to lead the technical evolution of our platform, transitioning from monolithic applications to a distributed architecture. This role is integral to shaping the future of our business travel and spend management solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.

In this position, you will define and champion architectural best practices, guiding teams in designing modular, maintainable services aligned with long-term business objectives. You will lead the transition to distributed systems, collaborate on the technical roadmap, and mentor engineers to foster a culture of strong engineering fundamentals.

Ideal candidates will have over 12 years of experience in designing high-scale distributed systems, with a proven track record in architectural leadership and driving major technical initiatives. Expertise in cloud environments, particularly AWS, and a deep understanding of distributed system patterns are essential.
