Principal AI Engineer
ALO is seeking a Principal AI Engineer to join its Artificial Intelligence and Data Science team, focusing on developing innovative AI solutions within the wellness, fashion, and retail sectors. This role involves building intelligent systems that enhance personalization, content generation, computer vision, and decision automation, contributing to ALO's mission of promoting mindful movement and better living.
The Principal AI Engineer will be responsible for designing and deploying bespoke AI solutions that drive business outcomes across various departments, including product design, marketing, supply chain, customer experience, and engineering. Key tasks include rapid prototyping using APIs and cloud-native services, transitioning experiments into scalable production systems, evaluating external AI platforms for integration, and collaborating cross-functionally to translate business challenges into AI-enabled solutions.
Candidates should possess over 10 years of experience in data or software engineering, along with an MS or PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Data Science. The role requires proficiency in Python, SQL, and cloud AI platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), as well as familiarity with modern AI frameworks such as LangChain, Hugging Face, and OpenAI. A strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including classification, natural language processing, computer vision, and embeddings, is essential. Experience in integrating AI into business workflows and developing model evaluation frameworks is also desired.
The base salary range for this position is $180,000 to $235,000 per year, with actual compensation varying based on factors such as location, experience, and performance. Additional rewards may include performance bonuses, long-term incentives, a PTO policy, and other progressive benefits.
