Post Conviction Relief Attorney
The United Firm, also known as La Liga Defensora, APC, is seeking a Post Conviction Relief Attorney to join their team in San Jose, California. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Associate Attorney to gain valuable experience in both criminal and immigration law within a premier law firm. The successful candidate will report directly to the Supervising Attorney and will be part of a collaborative team of attorneys and legal assistants.
In this position, the attorney will be responsible for managing a caseload of post-conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, motions to reduce sentences, and early termination of probation. The role involves advising clients on their legal rights, drafting legal documents, attending motion hearings, and providing strategic guidance to clients. Additionally, the attorney will handle open criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing, and will be expected to perform legal research and analysis to determine the probable outcomes of cases.
Candidates should have experience in criminal defense or immigration law, with a strong background in handling criminal cases at the state and local levels. A team-oriented approach is essential, as the role requires collaboration with fellow associates. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred but not required. Exceptional interpersonal skills are crucial for effective client interaction and teamwork.
The compensation for this role ranges from $80,000 to $120,000 annually, depending on experience.
