Patent Paralegal

Axiom is seeking experienced patent paralegals to join our team, providing temporary support to Fortune 100 clients on a remote basis. This role offers the opportunity to work with leading companies, assisting in managing their intellectual property portfolios and ensuring compliance with patent regulations.

Key responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and electronically filing U.S. patent applications and related documents with the USPTO. The paralegal will assemble complete submission packages, manage formal drawings, assignments, declarations, and information disclosure statements. Collaboration with patent attorneys, agents, and inventors is essential to track deadlines, maintain dockets, and ensure timely responses to USPTO communications. Additionally, the role involves maintaining accurate records within internal IP portfolio management systems and coordinating with international counsel on foreign filings and patent family management.

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a Paralegal Certificate preferred. A minimum of 7 years of experience supporting patent prosecution in a law firm or corporate legal department is required. Strong knowledge of USPTO filing procedures, forms, and PAIR systems is essential, along with proficiency in IP docketing and management tools such as FoundationIP, Anaqua, or Pattsy. Exceptional attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and excellent communication and collaboration skills are also necessary. Candidates should be open to working in an engagement-based role, seconded to clients on a temporary basis for approximately six months at a time.
