Paralegal - International Litigation & Arbitration
Foley Hoag LLP is seeking a bilingual Paralegal to join its International Litigation and Arbitration Department (ILAD) in the Washington, D.C. office. This role offers the opportunity to work directly on high-profile international legal cases within a team renowned for its expertise in public international law and international arbitration. The position requires on-site presence three days per week, typically from Tuesday to Thursday, with flexibility as determined by the supervisor.
The Paralegal will be responsible for maintaining and managing case files, conducting factual and basic legal research, and preparing and submitting filings to courts and dispute resolution institutions. Additional duties include working closely with attorneys on case teams, reviewing documents for relevance, ensuring accuracy in translations, and providing support during hearings and meetings both locally and abroad.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree and demonstrate oral and written fluency in both English and Spanish. Proficiency in French, Portuguese, or other official UN languages is advantageous. While prior paralegal experience is beneficial, it is not required. Essential skills include excellent critical thinking, strong writing abilities with attention to detail, organizational proficiency, and a willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
