New York Asset Finance Associate Attorney
Clifford Chance's New York office is seeking an Asset Finance Associate Attorney to join its Debt Finance Group. This role involves advising a diverse clientele, including lessors, financiers, banks, funds, manufacturers, operators, and investors, on asset finance matters across sectors such as aviation, shipping, rail, and other high-value movable assets. The associate will be responsible for structuring and documenting various financing transactions, including secured lending, operating and finance leases, sale and leaseback arrangements, export credit, and other structured financings. Day-to-day tasks encompass drafting and negotiating transaction documents, managing closings, handling portfolio acquisitions and disposals, and overseeing restructurings. The role requires close collaboration with cross-border teams to deliver comprehensive legal solutions to clients.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school or a foreign law degree with a U.S. LL.M., along with high academic achievement. They should have meaningful experience advising on cross-border asset finance transactions, particularly in aviation and other transportation finance sectors. Proficiency in operating and finance leases, secured lending, leveraged leasing, portfolio acquisitions and dispositions, restructurings, and asset-backed or structured finance transactions is essential. Strong drafting, negotiation, and project management skills are required, as well as admission to the New York Bar or eligibility to waive in. Prior experience at a peer Am Law or international law firm is preferred.
Clifford Chance US LLP offers a comprehensive benefits and compensation package. The salary range for this role is $365,000 to $435,000, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
