Mid Office Associate
IMC is seeking a Mid Office Associate to join its Middle Office team in Amsterdam. In this role, you will work closely with trading desks, clearing firms, exchanges, and brokers to identify, investigate, and reconcile trade, position, and cash exceptions. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate directly with traders and gain a comprehensive understanding of the business through daily, cross-functional interactions.
Key responsibilities include daily reconciliation of positions and profit and loss (P&L), managing trading fees with exchanges and clearing brokers, processing invoices, and addressing any discrepancies. You will also be responsible for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of current Middle Office operations by continuously reviewing processes and procedures. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with Back Office and Business Intelligence IT teams to enhance Middle Office applications and tools, providing operational support to various trading desks, performing ad hoc portfolio analysis, arranging cash transfers to meet funding requirements, and assisting the Finance team with month-end accounting.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting and possesses at least five years of experience in a similar role at an investment bank, pension or hedge fund, or asset management firm. Strong Excel skills, including VBA Macro experience, are essential, while basic proficiency in Python and SQL is preferred. Experience with derivative products, power and energy commodities, or foreign exchange is advantageous. The role requires a motivated, proactive individual with strong problem-solving abilities, a proven track record of process improvement, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
