Muon Space is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team, focusing on the design and development of spacecraft components and systems. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create well-balanced designs that meet mission requirements. As an early-stage startup, we value versatility, and the ideal candidate will engage in structural analysis, dynamics, thermal design, and supplier management throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include creating and refining mechanical designs for spacecraft components using CAD tools, performing stress and dynamic analyses to support structural designs, and developing test plans for environmental testing. The engineer will also support assembly and integration activities, ensuring hardware is optimized for manufacturability and testability, and maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the design and testing processes.

The ideal candidate will have a B.S. or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of experience designing, building, and testing flight hardware in the space industry or related fields. Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred), experience with engineering drawings and GD&T, and hands-on experience with hardware builds and integration are essential. Strong documentation skills and excellent communication abilities are also required.

The salary range for this position is $160,000 to $184,000 per year, complemented by a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package.
