CannonDesign is seeking a Mechanical Assessor II to join their Facility Optimization Solutions (FOS) team. This role involves conducting facility condition assessments on mechanical and plumbing systems across various sectors, including healthcare, education, sports, public, and commercial buildings. The position is remote within the U.S., with a preference for candidates located near Buffalo, NY; Houston, TX; Denver, CO; or Chicago, IL.

As a Mechanical Assessor II, you will perform on-site evaluations of existing buildings, focusing on HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, cooling towers, chillers, and boilers. Your responsibilities include identifying deficiencies, providing technical descriptions, and offering recommendations with budgetary cost estimates for remediation. You will collaborate with clients and on-site personnel, maintaining a daily walk rate of 100,000 to 225,000 square feet. Additionally, you will interview building operations and maintenance staff to gather relevant information and prepare project progress documentation for review.

Candidates should have a minimum of four years of related experience, with a strong background in evaluating mechanical systems. Experience in conducting facility condition assessments for mechanical and plumbing equipment is strongly preferred, especially within healthcare and educational institutions. Proficiency in AutoCAD and advanced Microsoft Office skills are required. The role involves up to 40% travel for out-of-town assignments, with projects typically consisting of one week in the field followed by two weeks in the office.
