CannonDesign is seeking a Mechanical II Engineer to join their multidisciplinary team in St. Louis, Missouri. This role involves working under the guidance of a licensed engineer on projects that encompass new construction and renovations in sectors such as education, healthcare, corporate commercial, and science and technology.

In this position, you will be responsible for designing HVAC systems, including ductwork and piping, for building projects. Tasks include calculating heating and cooling loads, creating layouts, and utilizing energy modeling software. You will also prepare Revit/BIM models for construction drawings, assist with plumbing and fire protection designs, and specify mechanical equipment like boilers and chillers. Additionally, you will review shop drawings, attend project meetings, and perform site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably from an ABET-accredited program, and have a minimum of four years of related experience. An Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification in the United States is preferred, as is LEED accreditation. Proficiency in engineering design software such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus is required, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

The salary range for this position is $67,346.00 to $79,230.00 annually.
