Mandamus Immigration Attorney
The United Firm is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney specializing in Mandamus actions and federal litigation to join their team in Washington, DC. This role involves representing clients whose immigration applications or petitions have been unreasonably delayed by USCIS or other government agencies. The ideal candidate will possess strong research, writing, and advocacy skills, along with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment.
As an Associate Attorney, you will handle federal court litigation, focusing primarily on Writs of Mandamus and Administrative Procedure Act (APA) lawsuits. Your responsibilities will also include representing both non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals. Additional duties encompass managing a caseload, conducting client intakes at detention centers, preparing diverse immigration applications, reviewing and adjusting immigration packets, and collaborating with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
Candidates should have at least 3-5 years of experience in Immigration Law, with a minimum of 2 years handling Mandamus and APA litigation. A team-oriented approach, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of advancing legal cases are essential. Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications is preferred. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous but not required.
