Manager, Software Engineering - Retail Systems (Omni)
Alo Yoga is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead its Retail Systems engineering team. This role involves owning the technical vision, roadmap, and delivery of systems that power Alo's store operations and omnichannel retail experiences. The position is based in San Ramon, California, and requires collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to ensure store systems are scalable, reliable, and operationally effective.
The Manager will lead, grow, and coach a team of engineers, fostering a high-performance, ownership-first culture. Responsibilities include recruiting and mentoring engineering talent, promoting engineering excellence, and aligning the Retail Systems technical roadmap with business and operational goals. The role also involves providing architectural and technical leadership for store-facing systems such as POS, inventory receiving, and omnichannel order fulfillment.
Candidates should have at least 9 years of software engineering experience, including 2 years in an Engineering Manager or people-manager role. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is required. Strong domain experience in retail systems, store operations, and omnichannel commerce is essential. Proficiency in delivering and operating store-facing systems, integrating with ERP, OMS, and loyalty platforms, and a solid understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architecture are also necessary.
The base salary range for this position is $188,000 to $235,000 per year. Additional rewards may include performance bonuses, long-term incentives, and a PTO policy. Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as location, experience, and performance.
