Manager, People Development, Custom Learning and Design
Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, a leading global law firm, is seeking a Manager for People Development, Custom Learning and Design. This role is based in the New York office and offers a hybrid work environment. The Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative learning programs for Business Services Professionals (BSPs) and Attorneys across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure that all learning initiatives align with the firm's Learning & Development (L&D) strategy and vision.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing self-study and technology-enabled learning solutions to enhance both professional and technical skills. The Manager will work closely with attorneys to create or enhance practice-specific training content and lead the creation of content based on emerging technologies and innovative learning methodologies. Additionally, the role involves overseeing the full lifecycle of program content development, from needs assessment through pilot, rollout, and integration into core curricula, as well as facilitating professional skills workshops, seminars, and training sessions for BSPs and Attorneys, both in-person and virtually.
Candidates should have extensive experience in learning and development, curriculum design, and facilitation, with a deep understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design. A strong understanding of professional development needs for associates at various levels is essential. The role requires exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage, develop, and inspire teams, associates, and BSPs. Proficiency in using learning technologies for virtual programs and discussions is also required.
The starting base salary for this position is expected to be within the range of $155,000 to $175,000 per year.
