Manager, Business Development (Litigation)
Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP is seeking a Manager of Business Development (Litigation) to join their Washington, D.C. office. This role involves initiating, designing, and executing business development strategies for the litigation department, collaborating closely with practice leaders, partners, and the Business Development & Marketing (BDM) department to enhance existing client relationships and establish new ones.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the creation and execution of business development plans for practices and individual partners, driving projects that support the firm's BD priorities, such as identifying client targets and nurturing key accounts, and collaborating with colleagues across various business development teams on cross-practice and cross-border opportunities. The Manager will also provide BD input on marketing projects, stay updated on litigation trends, establish key performance indicators, and maintain a strong understanding of law firm market trends and competitor activities.
Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of seven years of business development experience in a law firm, with at least two years in a managerial role. Experience with CRM systems, strong project management skills, and the ability to build rapport with partners are essential. The role requires effective interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
The starting base salary for this position is expected to be within the range of $200,000 to $220,000.
