Machine Learning Engineer (Remote in South Africa)

KnowBe4 is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join our team remotely in South Africa. In this position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and researching machine learning systems. Your day-to-day tasks will include transforming data science prototypes into production-ready models, performing statistical analyses to improve model performance, and implementing automated pipelines for data and model versioning, validation, and retraining. Additionally, you will focus on deploying and optimizing predictive models and large language models, ensuring they meet requirements for low latency, high throughput, and cost-efficiency.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree with at least three years of experience, or a Master's/Ph.D. with no prior experience. Proficiency in Python and PyTorch is essential, along with experience in distributed data processing using Apache Spark. Familiarity with AWS services such as SageMaker and Lambda, as well as tools like Docker and Terraform for environment reproducibility, is required. Knowledge of secure coding practices is preferred, and experience with C# and JavaScript is beneficial.
