Litigation Paralegal
The United Firm, also known as Windsor Troy Law, LLP, is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join its dynamic personal injury legal team in Los Angeles, California. This role is integral to supporting the firm's litigation function, encompassing all phases of the litigation process, from preparing complaints to trial preparation. The position reports directly to the Supervising Attorney.
Key responsibilities include drafting written discovery requests, responses, and personal injury complaints, as well as filing pleadings and documents with the court, ensuring all necessary attachments are included. The paralegal will prepare legal pleadings such as motions, 998s, and deposition notices, and will be responsible for preparing subpoenas to obtain records and documentation. Additional duties involve assisting with document production by analyzing requests, consulting with internal partners, and obtaining, reviewing, and producing documents. The role also entails guiding the process for gathering relevant materials and preparing responses to litigation demands, discovery requests, subpoenas, and agency claims, organizing and processing pleadings, correspondence, exhibits, and other documents, coordinating document collections and productions, preparing objections and responses to subpoenas, managing service of process, and daily calendaring and docketing of cases. The paralegal will draft routine correspondence and support special projects, including fact investigations and interviews, and will create internal templates, guidelines, and playbooks.
Candidates should have over three years of personal injury litigation experience as a paralegal in a plaintiff personal injury law firm. An Associate's, Bachelor's, or Paralegal Certificate is highly preferred. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required. Experience with litigation in both California state and federal courts is essential. The ability to undertake complex projects is necessary, along with advanced proficiency in Microsoft and Google software applications. Familiarity with case management software programs, specifically FileVine, is also preferred.
