Litigation Paralegal
Morgan & Morgan is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will collaborate closely with our attorneys, providing essential support throughout all phases of the litigation process. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a firm dedicated to advocating for consumer rights.
In this position, your primary responsibilities will include preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and legal memoranda. You will be responsible for e-filing court documents in both state and federal courts, conducting legal research and factual investigations, and preparing discovery documents, including interrogatories and responses. Additionally, you will coordinate and summarize depositions, prepare trial binders and exhibits, and assist attorneys with various discovery requests.
The ideal candidate will possess an associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience, along with a minimum of two years of litigation experience. Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program is preferred. Experience in Workers' Compensation is advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage workloads with a positive attitude and minimal supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings, and a thorough understanding of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and a typing speed of no less than 35 words per minute are also required.
