As a Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for managing the law firm's day-to-day operations, including carrying out administrative services and supporting the legal team. This position's ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, exceptional problem-solving skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic workplace.

Key responsibilities include performing administrative duties such as scheduling hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics. You will also maintain pleadings and discovery indexes, organize exhibits and legal documents, implement and improve administrative processes for more efficient workflow, collect and organize evidence for attorney review, draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, research regulations and laws, manage client billing, communicate with clients and witnesses, and manage documents in paper or electronic filing systems.

The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), with an associate's degree in paralegal studies, a paralegal certificate, or a bachelor's degree preferred. At least 2 years of experience as an administrative assistant (preferably in a law firm or in a corporate legal department), legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal is required. Experience in Personal Injury, Workers' Compensation, Premises Liability, or other injury-related practice areas is preferred. The candidate must possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, handle a fast-paced environment, and manage workload with a great attitude and minimal supervision. Strong written and communication skills, proficiency in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings, knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures, and extensive computer and database expertise, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and typing no less than 35 wpm, are essential.

This is an on-site position, which gives you the chance to be fully immersed in the work and gain direct experience alongside the team. We’ve found that being in the office helps new team members get up to speed quickly and feel more connected.
