Morgan & Morgan is seeking a dedicated Legal Assistant to join our team in Saint Louis, Missouri. As a Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in managing the firm's daily operations, providing essential administrative support, and assisting our legal team in delivering exceptional service to our clients. In this role, your primary responsibilities will include scheduling hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistical aspects of legal proceedings. You will maintain pleadings and discovery indexes, organize exhibits and evidence, and draft and proofread legal documents such as pleadings and contracts. Additionally, you will research regulations and laws to assist in case preparation, manage client billing processes, and communicate with clients and witnesses to coordinate meetings and depositions. Maintaining organized paper and electronic filing systems will also be a key part of your duties.

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for those holding an associate's degree in paralegal studies, a paralegal certificate, or a bachelor's degree. A minimum of one year of experience as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal, preferably within a law firm or corporate legal department, is required. Experience in Social Security, Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Premises Liability, or related practice areas is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in scheduling depositions and hearings, and familiarity with motions, discovery, and court procedures are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and a typing speed of at least 35 words per minute are also required.
