Lead Software Engineer, Pub Admin
Sony Music Entertainment is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Pub Admin product team within the Product, Design, Engineering & Global Operations (PDEGO) division, based in the King's Cross office in London. Pub Admin is a unified, modern rights and royalty platform designed to serve Sony Music's global songwriting community by transforming complex domains into simple, scalable, high-performance product solutions.
In this role, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop products that empower artists and record labels worldwide. Your responsibilities will include contributing to all tiers of the architecture to produce high-quality, robust user experiences, writing clean and maintainable code, and working closely with product management to understand client requirements. Additionally, you will design, communicate, and execute a vision in collaboration with your team and other teams across the technology organization, participate in re-architecture, refinement, and technical design of various systems, and mentor junior engineers to foster a culture of continuous learning.
The ideal candidate will have over 18 years of software engineering experience, including implementing distributed systems and proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript. Experience in building frontend applications using TypeScript, React, and GraphQL is essential, along with familiarity with various database technologies and query languages like Neo4j, Kafka, MySQL, Snowflake, and OpenSearch. A strong understanding of low-latency techniques, microservices, APIs, and related standards such as REST, HTTP, and OAuth is required. Comfort with AWS Cloud technologies, experience using log analysis to investigate bugs and performance issues, writing unit and integration tests, and working in an agile team are also important.
