The Lead Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Engineer for Space Sensing at STR is a pivotal role within the Sensors Division, focusing on the advancement of space-based sensing technologies. In this capacity, the engineer will design, implement, and operate integrated simulation testbeds for advanced space and defense systems. Key responsibilities include analyzing system performance, developing and executing test plans, and defining evaluation criteria. The role requires close collaboration with research and software teams to integrate simulation and analysis tools, as well as direct engagement with customers to understand their challenges and requirements.
Candidates should possess a strong background in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field, with a minimum of 8 years of experience for a Bachelor's degree, 6 years for a Master's, or 2 years for a PhD. Experience with space defense programs, sensor systems, and ground systems is essential. Proficiency in scientific programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, and C/C++ is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
The compensation for this role ranges from $174,000 to $225,000 annually, reflecting the candidate's experience, education, and security clearance status.
