Lead Modeling and Simulation Engineer
The Lead Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Engineer at STR's Sensors Division will lead teams in developing advanced M&S tools for RF sensor systems, including radar, electronic warfare, and underwater acoustics. The role involves designing, integrating, and testing physics-based simulations to evaluate system performance in operational scenarios.
Key responsibilities include leading multi-disciplinary teams, architecting and implementing effects-based simulations, guiding the development of event-based and agent-based models, and maintaining existing M&S frameworks. The engineer will also collaborate with RF sensor engineering teams, support hardware-in-the-loop and real-time simulation capabilities, and serve as the primary technical interface with sponsor organizations.
Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree with at least 7 years of applicable experience, a Master's degree with at least 5 years, or a Ph.D. with at least 2 years. Experience in leading technical teams on advanced R&D programs, designing and implementing M&S codebases, and integrating new capabilities into existing M&S environments is required. Proficiency in C/C++, Python, MATLAB, Simulink, and related analysis environments is essential.
The full-time salary range for this position is $157,000 to $224,000 annually. Offers are based on factors such as experience, education, training, key skills, security clearances, and prevailing market and business conditions.
