The Lead GPU Software Engineer will join the Real-time Architectures, Integration, and Demonstration (RAID) Group within STR's Sensors Division. This team focuses on transitioning advanced signal processing algorithms into real-time software for RF sensor systems, ensuring compliance with open architecture standards. The role involves close collaboration with algorithm developers, systems engineers, RF hardware engineers, and integration teams across various programs.

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing real-time software components for RF sensor signal processing systems, developing and optimizing GPU-accelerated algorithms using CUDA, and translating algorithm specifications from MATLAB or Python into optimized C/C++ implementations. The engineer will also architect software components compliant with open architecture standards, integrate and optimize code for real-time performance on multi-core CPUs and GPUs, and develop unit tests, integration tests, and performance benchmarks. Additionally, the role involves documenting software designs, APIs, and technical reports, contributing to briefings and presentations for program reviews and customer meetings, and supporting approximately 20% travel for integration events, customer meetings, and field demonstrations.

Candidates should possess a PhD with 2 years, a Master's with 5 years, or a Bachelor's with 7 years in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Experience with GPU programming and optimization using CUDA, strong proficiency in C/C++ for high-performance, real-time applications, and experience with Linux and embedded systems development are essential. Additional qualifications include experience with real-time signal processing, multithreaded programming, version control systems (Git), and good technical writing and communication skills. An active Security Clearance at the Secret or Top Secret level is strongly preferred.

STR offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental and vision coverage, and a 401(k) plan with company matching.
