Lead GPU Software Engineer
The Lead GPU Software Engineer at STR's Sensors Division in Atlanta, GA, will be integral to the Real-time Architectures, Integration, and Demonstration (RAID) Group. This team focuses on transitioning advanced signal processing algorithms into real-time software for RF sensor systems, ensuring compliance with open architecture standards. STR specializes in advanced sensor systems, including radar, electronic warfare, underwater acoustics, hyperspectral imaging, and EO/IR sensing.
In this role, the engineer will design and implement real-time software components for RF sensor signal processing systems, develop and optimize GPU-accelerated algorithms using CUDA, and translate algorithm specifications into optimized C/C++ implementations. Responsibilities also include architecting software components compliant with open architecture standards, integrating and optimizing code for real-time performance on multi-core CPUs and GPUs, and developing unit tests, integration tests, and performance benchmarks. Collaboration with algorithm developers, systems engineers, RF hardware engineers, and integration teams across programs is essential.
Candidates should possess a PhD with 2 years, a Master's with 5 years, or a Bachelor's with 7 years in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Experience with GPU programming and optimization (CUDA), strong proficiency in C/C++ for high-performance, real-time applications, and familiarity with Linux and embedded systems development are required. Additional qualifications include experience with real-time signal processing, multithreaded programming, version control systems (Git), and good technical writing and communication skills.
