Lead Algorithm & Signal Processing Engineer
The Lead Algorithm & Signal Processing Engineer at STR will be a pivotal member of the Electronic Warfare and Novel Capabilities Group (EWNC), focusing on the development of advanced signal processing algorithms and prototype systems for next-generation radar and electronic warfare technologies. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that address complex radar and RF sensing challenges, contributing to STR's mission of enhancing national security through technological innovation.
In this position, the engineer will design and implement state-of-the-art signal processing and machine learning techniques, develop models and simulations for advanced RF systems, and lead small teams and projects. Additional responsibilities include supporting business development and proposal writing efforts, as well as collaborating with diverse teams to deploy innovative capabilities into prototype systems.
Candidates should possess a BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline, with 5-7+ years of relevant work experience depending on the degree. Proficiency in scientific or mathematical programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, and C/C++ is required. Experience in areas like RF/radar signal processing, optimization, waveform design, electronic warfare, machine learning, adaptive signal processing, AI/ML algorithm development, test & evaluation, model & simulation, or systems engineering is essential. The ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance is also necessary.
The compensation for this full-time role ranges from $1,570,000 to $2,200,000 annually, based on factors such as experience, education, training, key skills, security clearances, and prevailing market conditions.
