Technical Advisor
McGuireWoods is seeking a Technical Advisor to join our Commercial Litigation - Patent group. This role involves assisting patent litigation teams in analyzing and understanding computer-related technologies pertinent to various patent litigation matters. McGuireWoods, established in 1834, is a leading law firm providing comprehensive legal solutions to corporate, individual, and nonprofit clients.
The Technical Advisor will be responsible for staying abreast of historical and current developments in specific and related technological areas. Key duties include analyzing applicable standards, evaluating product embodiments, and providing analyses related to patent infringement and non-infringement. Additionally, the role involves researching patents and prior art for invalidity purposes and educating litigation teams about the technologies, products, services, and patents involved.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, with a Master's or Ph.D. preferred. Essential skills include excellent verbal and written communication, strong planning and organizational abilities, high attention to detail, and self-motivation. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required, along with a willingness to engage with innovative technology platforms.
