Java Software Engineer (Power/Gas)
IMC is establishing a new Power and Gas Trading business in Aarhus, Denmark, a central hub for energy trading in Europe. This initiative combines the dynamic environment of a startup with the extensive experience and resources of IMC's over 30 years in the trading industry. The company is assembling a dedicated team in Aarhus, supported by IMC's global technology and trading infrastructure.
As a Java Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a team to develop a comprehensive technology stack that facilitates power and gas trading. Your responsibilities will include building systems for exchange connectivity, trading operations, strategy implementation, data analysis, and pricing. Additionally, you will work closely with traders to maintain and enhance the technology stack and assist in training new team members.
Candidates should possess a strong academic background in computer science or a related quantitative field, along with a minimum of two years of professional experience as a software engineer. Proficiency in Java is essential, while experience with other programming languages such as Python or C++ is advantageous. Familiarity with the European power and gas trading industry is beneficial but not mandatory. The role requires adaptability, the ability to work independently on new projects, and fluency in English.
