In-House Legal Counsel
NielsenIQ is seeking a Junior Commercial Counsel to join its North American legal team. Reporting to the General Counsel, Americas, this role involves assisting with a broad range of commercial legal matters, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various agreements. The position offers an opportunity to work closely with senior legal team members in a dynamic, global company environment.
Key responsibilities include assisting in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating client agreements, licensing agreements, data sharing agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership arrangements under the supervision of senior counsel. The Junior Commercial Counsel will provide day-to-day legal support to business stakeholders on commercial contracting matters, escalating complex issues as needed. Collaboration with sales, procurement, product, privacy, and security teams is essential to identify and address legal and compliance considerations in commercial transactions.
The ideal candidate will possess an LL.B. or J.D. and be admitted to practice law in a Canadian province. Approximately 2–4 years of relevant legal experience, ideally including work supporting commercial transactions at a law firm or in-house, is preferred. Experience in technology, data, or market research companies is advantageous. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a global environment.
