Immigration Legal Assistant - EOIR
UnitedFirm is seeking an Immigration Legal Assistant to join our growing legal team in Dallas, Texas. This role involves assisting in all aspects of our Immigration practice, including managing client relationships, case review, analysis, preparation, and filing non-immigrant petitions. The position reports directly to the Legal Department Supervisor and requires a strong understanding of immigration-related laws and procedures.
Key responsibilities include analyzing case documents, preparing immigration applications for filing with the appropriate government agency, and communicating with clients and foreign nationals regarding procedural and case processing issues. The role also involves overseeing the status of cases through the utilization of case management and billing systems, maintaining hard copy files and documents to support all immigration activity on behalf of clients, and ensuring that clients are kept informed on the progress of their cases. Additionally, the Immigration Legal Assistant will assist attorneys and other team members in managing caseloads and complete assignments while communicating case progress, status, and issues to supervisors.
Ideal candidates should have at least 1-2 years of experience in Immigration Law, with previous experience as a paralegal or in another legal field. Familiarity with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications is preferred. Proficiency with case management software is also desired. A client-service attitude with excellent case management skills is essential for success in this role.
